What To Do If You Need To Be Excused School

For part of a day

If you need to be excused school (for example a hospital appointment or a music examination) you must bring a note 3 days in advance from your parent or guardian, addressed to your Tutor, explaining where you are going and giving dates and times.  The Tutor will keep your note and give you a coloured slip to show to every teacher whose class you will be missing.

When you leave school for your appointment, you must sign out in the admin. centre and sign in on your return.

If you need to be excused for whole day or longer, speak to your Head of Form well in advance of the absence.

Whenever you have been away, even if it is for only half a day, you are responsible for making sure that any classwork or homework you have missed is written up and learnt.

Medical appointments should disrupt school as little as possible.  Try to ensure they are after school.
